I'm torn between getting a Canon 5D or the t2i w/ an addition lens kit. either way I'm gonna spend about the same, just not sure if I want the better camera or the better accessories.
I just received the invite to this blog, so stop your whining. Justin before I bought my T2i Idid quite a bit of research. THere is nothing more frustrating than buying an expensive piece of electronics only to find there is something better out there that suits your needs. I am very pleased with my T2i and don't for a second regret the purchase. Sure, there are moments when I would enjoy the processing speed that the 5D offers, but at the end of the day I would much rather have a couple of nice lenses. The money is in the glass, buying a nice lens is more important than the minute differences between the 5D and the T2i.
I use the Canon 60D and would highly recommend it. It has better features than the T2i, such as swivel screen 5.6FPS burst photography, wireless flash integration, custom dial in for color temperature, and of course the swivel screen.
The only thing the 5D has over it is a 21MP sensor vs the 18MP, and the 5D uses compact flash cards vs the SD cards the 60D uses.
I would agree with the last post and was going to tell you the same thing! GET A 60D, I have mine coming in soon! two weeks to be exact. I mean the T2i is nice but for a tiny bit more you can get the 60d and also still have enough to get some nice lenses. Also the 60D supports all lenses, so you aren't just stuck with L series or any other series! OPEN OPTION! Oh and did the guy before me happen to mention swivel screen? And if your using it for filming purposes also "I HOPE" then you get audio control which the 7D and T2i both lack! Not saying they are bad cameras but i just think the 60d swims under the radar and people don't realize what it's actually capable of. It was actually made as the DSLR thats aimed more towards the video aspect as apposed to the photography side but can still hold it's own on the photography side with the rest of the cameras! and you can also use SD cards and you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on those big bulky cards to get 16gigs of space! Last but not least SWIVEL SCREEN!!!!
I just bumped into this. I think it would be nice for you to get the 5d because of the ISO, You can go higher with the ISO and thats very helpful if you want to do night shots. But the T2i isnt a bad choice especially if your getting a couple lenses but if your getting lenses with the 5D, I would go with 5D.
Does no one in Tampa have an opinion about this?
